"Let’s Grow Daffodils!"

Dear Kirby…

Thank you for your wonderful Power Point presentation that I used as the main portion of my 3rd annual presentation on daffodils at the beautiful farm and home of Andre Viette’s Daylily Nursery and Farm that is located in Fishersville, Virginia. My biggest disappointment was that Glenna was unable to be there to assist me as she so apltly did last year.

It is my understanding that mine may have been the very first ‘public’ presentation of “Let’s Grow Daffodils”, if so, I am singularly honored. However, whether this was the 1st or the 40th time, YOUR CREATION IS ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST and I sincerely hope that you plan to make it a point to both show the slides in Atlanta and also tell those present that it has been shown and it met with great reception. As a matter of fact, Mr. Viette was so pleased with this year’s presentation that he invited Betty and me to join him in August, along with a group of other presenters at his 14th annual “In The Garden” weekend at The Homestead Resort (1766) located in Hot Springs, Virginia (www.thehomestead.com) which I consider a genuine honor. WOW! Thanks to you, I will be ‘loaded’ and with thanks to Jaydee for back issues of Journals and membership applications, I full intend to come back with new ADS members! After all, it’s all part of evangelizing and making more people aware of our wonderful Society and how easy it is to purchase; plant; and enjoy daffodils, not to fail to mention the vast number of different color combinations that are available.

Now, I have a suggestion in the form of a request. Will you please consider taking a series of photographs in Baltimore at “Bloom, Bay and Beyond” at our 2012 Annual Convention and Show that can be incorporated into an, if you will, addendum to “Let’s Grow Daffodils”, since I believe it would be a wonderful addition to use when speaking, as I often do, to garden clubs and master gardener groups. As a matter of fact, I will try to tactfully suggest a name for a new Power Point product that incorporates showing staging; exhibiting; judging; and awards/ribbons. This presentation could be named “Let’s Grow, Show and Enjoy Daffodils!”, since some shots could be taken of daffodils blooming in private garden situations, etc. Just a thought!

Thank you, again,

Ross
