FW: Daffodil Project I-79

Daffnetters, I have received this inquiry and have gained permission to post
the inquiry to Daffnet, for your responses to this gentleman, privately. I
responded and told him his first step would be to contact WV DOT as they
control access and right of way. I also suggested he gain support and
interest from the State Garden Club in WV. Any feedback you might have for
him would be helpful, and please respond directly to him. Many thanks for
your help with this inquiry. His message is found below.

Mr, Deeager,

I travel I-79 through WV on a daily basis and sometime the trip can become a
little mundane. On a recent trip I started thinking about how to beautify
the roadside especially in early spring. I thought about organizing a
project to plant daffodils on the state right a way as a way to provide some
color along the interstate.

I realize this is a huge undertaking and is not something that would happen
over night. Do you know of anyone else in another state who has done this?
Can your organiztion provide assistance as far as recomending certain
varieties of daffodils that would work best for naturalization? I am
confident I can recurit organizations along the interstate who will help and
provide bulbs and I need to make sure what we put in the ground is good
quality bulbs that will last and reproduce.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
