By far, and surprisingly, the most sturdy stemmed Daffodil variety I
have grown is Brians “Waldorf Astoria”.
At it’s peak for me, it would go through high winds and temps in the low
80s (F) without any reaction whatsoever!.
When all the other doubles in my beds showed substantial bent stems,
this one stood straight up!
I don’t know why I never replaced that variety!
