Daffnetters, I received this inquiry below asking for assistance. With her blessing, I am forwarding the inquiry to Daffnet and hope that some of you may be of help to Ms Bourne. I checked DaffSeek and didn’t find any cultivars registered by her grandfather. If you can help, please communicate privately with Ms Bourne. Her email address is below.

Jaydee
This is a bit of a long shot but I wonder if you could help me. My Grandfather Christopher Bourne was a daffodil breeder and produced a catalogue of daffodils called Bourne Daffodils of which I have a copy from 1914. I have always loved daffodils and wondered if it would be possible to track down any of the varieties he bred as I would love to grow some of his.
My aunt tells me that none of his varieties ever went into formal production and that this may be difficult. I have been in contact with Sharon Donald at the RHS, two of his varieties were recognized on the International Daffodil Register, Merryman and Ochree. Sharon suggested that sometimes some cultivars do better in other environments and passed me your email address.
As I have said I realise that this is a long shot but would really appreciate any help or advice you would give me with this.
Thank you
Frances Bourne
