This is V96-168-7 = Twotees x Cool Evening. Even though from pink breeding, I guess this is an 11aW-O. It tends to “yellow out” as it ages. I like the intense, deep forest green “eye” that nicely sets off the anthers and stigma. The skewed axis balance symmetry of the perianth segments is irritating. Some flowers in this Selection show somewhat better symmetry than the photo and some not as good. Obtaining seedlings in Div. 11 that are balanced as well as consistently symmetric in both perianth andcoronal segments has been a real challenge here.
One of my goals for Div. 11 breeding is to shorten the coronal segments. I would like to clearly see the perianth segments and nothave them covered entirely by the coronal segments. This flower is on target in that aspect.
