Baltimore show – Throckmorton Award winner

The Throckmorton class is for a collection of 15 standards with 15 different RHS classifications. A classification is a division number and color code. Flowers in the winning collection are:

Back: Loch Hope 2Y-R Early American 3W-YYO Estrella 3W-YYR Raspberry Ring 2W-GWP Triple Crown 3Y-GYR Middle: Spindletop 3W-Y Ashmore 2W-GWW Doctor Hugh 3wGOO Lancaster 3W-GYO Actaea 9W-YYR Front: Singing Hills 7YYW-W Fragrant Rose 2W-GPP Gold Chain 7Y-Y Rainbow 2W-WWP Hoopoe 8Y-O

The exhibitor was Barbara Mertz. By the way, you should remember Mary Lou’s comment that what the flowers look like at judging time may be quite different from what they look like by the time I get around to photographing them. Although at least two flowers in this picture looks like it’s losing substance, it was no doubt still holding up during judging.
