Rongotea is a small country town on a busy rural Manawatu crossroad junction .
Thursday 20 September was the day for their 103 rd Spring Show in the Te Kawau
Community Centre , a very nice modern venue .The daffodils are a small part of
a very old style country show schedule that still includes home cooking ,home
crafts , jams and many other traditional country skills .
The Central Daffodil Group had been very pleased to host the bus of daffodil
tourists on the previous day, visiting the daff patches of John Hollever and
John Mclennan . Nancy Tacket and Ben Blake ,were at the show as was James Smythe ,
visiting from Northern Island and heading to Dunedin for the Convention .

Champion Bloom — 1 W – Y Dreamchaser Bob and Heather MacDonell
Dreamchaser , a big bloom , is a recent John Hunter registration .
Reg Cull and Nancy Tacket were the Open class judges .
Brian MacKenzie , Bob ,MacDonell and James Smythe judged the Lower grades .
A local newspaper photographer was trying for a great shot of the judges in action .
I was trying to snap them all .
