2012 late show , Seedlings .

We had an interesting discussion on the split coronas in the seedlings
at the C D G late show .Corey Field has been showing some excellent sdlgs
for several seasons .He has been obviously been chasing the splits , we saw
a great yellow /red last season , and an almost split this year .
His vase of seedling , very well grown , good size , created considerable interest ,
particularly when comparing the bottom left flower to an “almost ” split in
a vase of John Hollever sdlgs .
The bottom left flower in Cory,s vase was well laid back , a few serrations
but they were not very deep .
The bottom left flower in the Hollever vase , orange cup with deeper wire rim ,
although almost a Div 3 cup ,
had 6 deep serrations,, almost to the base ,

probably enough to be a split .
All three Hollever flowers were from the cross , Tanzey Girl x Runita , or
reverse . About 12 selections from two useful late flowers , both very flat cups .

There are not a lot of good late season yellow trumpets around .Ralph Mountfort
stage a bright vase of the consistently late David Bell oldie
