This is not an American Daffodil Society award, but I wanted to include a photo of an important class at the Oregon Daffodil Society shows. The ODS has challenge classes similar to the ADS Challenge Section. The difference is that the flowers must be grown outdoors for the ODS challenge classes. There are classes for 3, 6, and 12 flowers hybridized by the exhibitor. As is the case with the ADS challenge classes, the names of the flowers are concealed during judging. This photo is of the winner of the 12 stem class. There were three entries in this class. The flowers in the winning collections are: Back row: QH26/2 2YYW-W, SH41/1 2W-W, ‘Emperor Concerto’ 2YYW-WWY, ‘College Years’ 3Y-YYO; 2nd row: LH64/3 2Y-Y, QH23/1 2YYW-W, ‘Confidentiality’ 2Y-Y, ‘Lemon Luster’ 2Y-Y; Front row: ‘Adept 7YYW-Y, TT10/4 7W-W, ‘March Wren’ 6YYW-W, ‘Euphonic Bells’ 5W-W. The exhibitor was Elise Havens. I think I’ve got the wrong name for the third flower in the front row since it doesn’t look like 6YYW-W.
Enough for tonight; I’ll continue with the miniature awards tomorrow
