The C D G held our early show on Tuesday 9 August , in Levin , We had a new venue this season , The Masonic Lodge Hall ..Very big and roomy , good facilities , and , something a little different , beautiful , new , big round tables .A first for me in fifty plus years of exhibiting . It was still very early season , our numbers are steady but not large but all made an effort and we had a great day . We had 9 exhibitors staging 32 vases 3 and 60 single blooms , plus one fine pot of Avalex . A good total of 156 stems for judge Andrew Jenkins to assess . . Avalex , a super strong tazetta 8W – Y from Wilfred Hall , was exhibited by almost all exhibitors – a testimony to it’s reliability and popularity . The other dominant bloom was 2W – W , , ICESCAPE , a very white John Hunter registration . It took Champion Bloom and was in contention for Premier Vase 3 , beaten in a close call by a strong vase of Avalex .

Prem Historic – DAYDREAM 2Y – W – John Hollever Not large but very neat and great form for a 1960 registration .
