Many ADS members will remember Ross Hotchkiss, formerly of Richmond, who passed away in Chatham, VA on Dec. 25, 2022 after a brief illness. He was 84.
Ross was a very active member of the Virginia Daffodil Society, having served as president for two terms (2006-2010) and was awarded the Sue Robinson award in 2006. He was also a regional director for the Mid-Atlantic region of the American Daffodil Society. An obituary in the Richmond Times Dispatch noted: “He learned his lifelong skill of gardening as a child through his father when they planted their first Victory Garden.”
Memorial contributions honoring Ross may be made to Collegiate School, Betty Hotchkiss Scholarship Fund, 103 N. Mooreland Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Ross is survived by his wife, Betty Hotchkiss, of the home at 335 S Main Street, Chatham, VA 24531.
