A Cold and Warn Daffodil Year

During the daffodil show season in April we had 80 degree (F) weather that burned out my daffodils, than in the month of May and June we had cooler than normal weather. I wore long pants until yesterday because it was too cool for short ones. The last 10 days or so, we have had rain to misty rain ever day, part of my state of NJ we had floods and a recording of over 5 inches of rain in a 2 hour period, resulting in more floods.

Here we just had miserable weather, cloudy, misty and damp.  All together we may have gotten 1/2 inch of rain according to my rain gauge. Not much for the season.  However, yesterday the sun came out with 91percent humidity.  Way to go! from one misery to another. That’s daffodil season for you.  I’m glad I have dug all my daffodils, now I just have to get some dry weather to prepare my daffodil beds for the upcoming (I know, in a few months) daffodil planting season. I have an inground well pump that I use to irrigate my daffodils that gave out just as I finished digging. Just got it fixed.

Hoping your daffodil season had better weather than I.
