Whanganui Horticultural Society held their 2023 Spring Show on Saturday 16 September , -regarded as the prime show week , the middle week between the North and South Island Nationals .
Probably the fullest show on our Central Curcuit , – excellent floral art deseigns in the foyer , a full range of competitive spring flowers and shrubs . And the most Daffs locally this season , – very pleasing to see such strong entries in the amateur and novice classes .
A few recycled flowers from Rongotea , only 3 days previous but a host on fresher blooms and several that were new to me .Local hosts are Wayne and Sue Hughes with great assistance from Dave Luty and Lyn Hoskyn -a job well done by this small team ..
Wayne was pleased to see his favourite daffodil child , SANDMERE GOLD , – have another show win , – it is building a very inpressive show record and is succeeding for all exhibitor grades .Well done Wayne and grower John Hollever
