Looks to me like it could be an old Mrs. R.O. Backhouse double, Insulinde. Many of these older doubles are similar (to me anyhow) and I id by comparing to known varieties that I grow. I do grow Insulinde, but it will be a few weeks before I get a bloom here. You might check this out on Daffseek to see if any of the pictures match your flower.

Stephan, What part of the country are you located in?
What blooms (or rather grows and persists) here on the gulf coast is a little different. The reason I ask is you have a comcast email address (not sure if they are nationwide or just regional).
