Sorting the differences between Armidale and Summer Solstice was interesting .
Neck style was obvious — S S here all had long sloping necks ; Armidale had more
traditional right angle out from stem .
Inner petals — S S were much closer to touching and shoulders were lower .
Armidale was a larger flowerwith higher shoulders.Difference is similar at backs .
They are an impressive group of late flowers — a very good line .
The rimmed cups are very eye catching.
Question .
When these flowers are shown in the U K , would they be open ground grown ,
or because of their lateness , grown in pots and bought forward a little to catch the shows .
When open ground grown here in North Island N Z , they are seldom seen at the shows
as they are just to late and few use pot grown flowers …
Soft Focus and Waldorf Astoria face similar problems .
Cheers John.
