I agree with you 100% on this issue. I think a flower “should always” show it’s true form. I just LOVE to read descriptions of cultivars that say “almost every flower in the clump is show worthy”. That is a variety that deserves to be grown by all flower lovers. Yes, I grow many, many, many flowers that would never win in any show, but, they are “winners” as garden flowers. I much perfer wonderful garden floweres that win for their perfect form. I have also know of people trimming iris & daylilies to win ribbons also.
