Help with identification, please.

I have received a request from someone in the UK for help with identifying these two flowers.  He took the photos in Scotland.  All information will be appreciated.

  1. Hello Mary Lou,
The yellow white looks like N.Pipit but the
White Pink Div 2 will take a little more time!
    Many Best Regards,
    Ian

  2. Hi, Ian and Suzy,

My first thought was Pipit, too, with only one on a stem.  I don’t think it’s Intrigue.  Intrigue has broader petals.  Have to think about Romance.

  3. Suzy the petals are not round enough for Intrigue but pointed like Pipit.

  4. There is a great deal of difference in appearance of given cultivars grown in various climates and soils. This flower could be Pipit, although it seems to me that the perianth is narrower than Pipit normally comes. Considering how widely dispersed Pipit is, it is likely more probable than a number of other possibilities.

  5. My best guess would be Dickcissel, slightly shorter cup and a more star shaped perianth.
Dickcissel has been quite a common daffodil for a while as well.

Could the yellow pink be something in the direction of ‘Eastern Dawn’

  6. Carlos,
Dickcissel was my other thought, but I was not sure how widely it is grown. It generally is less formal than Pipit and had considerably more contrast.

Of course now with all of the fertile jonquils being more widely grown, there are many possibilities.
