Pragmatic question from drought-plagued Northern Hemisphere

We are delighting in all of these gorgeous pictures which remind us that it is springtime Down Under.
But across the Northern Hemisphere, plagued by drought and high heat (my home state has had 2.6 total inches of rain since July 4, a 90-year record, have you learned by observation and reality about what other plants the deer won’t eat, other than daffodils and their kinfolks.
If so, would you share suggestions with the rest of us?

  1. The deer won’t eat Helleborus.  Doesn’t matter which sub-species or variety.  Be warned, though, that if they’re happy, they will seed around.  Even into places where you don’t want them.
