Titahi Bay is a northern , coastal suburb of Porirua City , just north of our capital , Wellington .It enjoys a better climate than Wellington but spring is always later than the Kapiti and Horowhenua regions , about 30 minutes further North . The Kapiti area growers have been regular supporters and exhibitors here and in recent seasons , good local publicity has seen the number of local exhibitors grow greatly . 2017 was probably the best show yet ; a record 200 daffodil entries and 617 entries across all the show classes .An early flowering spring certainly helped this early show and they were also well rewarded for their efforts in getting school and youth involvement and some exceptional floral art .The judge was Diane Irwin , down from the Kapiti coast and a former Titahi Bay local .
The show was held Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August .I staged my blooms on the Friday evening and did not see the final product or the judges verdicts . Thanks to Margaret Seconi for photos and results .

A very good standard for an early show . We have had a very wet winter and early spring ; the daffs just loved it with a lot of large , tall blooms .
