Hi Folks,
I have a request for information on a tazetta supposedly native to Israel and may be commonly known as the Rose of Sharon.
I have searched many areas of Google, consulted the RHS Register, gone through John Blanchard’s book and can’t seem to find a definitive answer. There is an indication that the Biblical ‘lily of the valley’ may be a narcissus or that the ‘rose of Sharon’ may also be a narcissus. For some reason Gloriosus seems to have Biblical connotations to me but there is no information on its origin.
Is there a narcissus which is native to Israel?
Is there any connection with the names outlined above?
Thanks in anticipation.
Dave
I have since found another website, combining Israel and narcissus, which has photos etc. I think I’m right suggesting Gloriosus is the tazetta involved. Your comments are still welcome.

Dear Dave,
I just returned from Israel yesterday. One native daffodil is the Mediterranean Sea Daffodil, which I saw blooming in the wild on the cliffside along the bike path not far from the marina in Tel Aviv.
Best regards,
Niels
Thanks Niels. Your viewing is most interesting. I wonder if you could describe the flowers you saw.
