Deer in Leander Texas

This is in central Texas over New Years weekend. Notice that the deer have eaten all the leaves and limbs off the the trees in this yard that they can reach while standing on their back legs.
There were at least 43 deer in this herd nibbling anything green that did not have thorns on the plants in these flower beds. Several of these were pretty nice bucks.
Extreme drought here in the photo just north of Austin on New Years day. We saw newly planted live oak trees that the deer straddled and walked down so they could eat the leaves off of the tops of the young trees.
There are no tulips or other annuals and very little landscaping in any of the residential areas…..even the thorny plants are eaten if they are hungry enough. Keith Kridler
