Jim Davidson

It is with sadness that we hear of Jim Davidson’s  passing.

Our sincere sympathy to all his extended family —  he was a proud father and grandfather and a proud Scot.
We very much enjoyed his visits to our area ,  —  it was only in September 2008  that Jim was last with us. Jim was a fine roving  Daffodil  Ambassador , always with a ready smile and a twinkle in his eye.
He had an extensive daffodil knowledge  which he willingly shared;  his travels gave him a good perspective of both northern and southern hemisphere flowers , growers  and shows  and he was always very fair and measured

A nice photo of Jim with the vase he chose as best in show at Palmerston North ,  September  2008. Jim presented the winner  Brian MacKenzie with a miniature bottle of Glendeveron Whiskey , he was very proud of the many fine whiskies from his area.  We named Jim the Glendeveron  Ambassador  for 2008  as he made many similar awards at shows he visited on all his New Zealand  excursions.

As John Hunter commented ,  – Jim was a great  character.
