    I was amazed when I read the book, The Great Deluge by David Brinkley, to find out that dragonflies were a fierce deterrent to the mosquito population that hatched in the standing water after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, La.  They also defended the many corpses that floated in the flood water as they hovered over the bodies of the dead preventing flies from laying eggs and hatching maggots.
     
    I think they are amazing insects and true friends to all men, alive or dead.
