N. pachybolbus

The following pictures are of what we call N. pachybolbus. You may remember that I caused a bit of controversy last year by challenging the identification of some other flowers in the U.K.as this species. Mine are now in flower. Here are two spikes that came from bulbs originally obtained from Lindsey Dettmann in Australia.  This species tends to have tiny rounded flowers on tall spikes. Typically the corona is filled with pollen. Now that we have located where my bulbs are growing, I can get some for Roger to try next season.
