Maryland’s Eastern Shore Zone 7 Transplanting DaffodilsNow?

Mark –

A few years back I wanted to move three huge clumps from an old homestead – in February.
Two friends helped in this endeavor.
Each clump easily contained 200 bulbs – big, small, round ones, long skinny ones – all held together by lots of clay.
First we dropped the clumps from a height of about 5 feet, a number of times.  A few fell out.
Then we plopped everything into a tub of water, let them sit awhile and swished them around.
Dumped the water out after an hour or so and gently (why then?) pulled the bulbs apart.
We then planted a hillside with the bulbs.
A few bloomed that spring and within 3 years the hillside had lots of blooms.
Now the hillside fully blooms out and they need digging again but I’m not going to do it!
