The ADS Challenge Section is for exhibits entered by the hybridizer. The blooms may be grown in any manner deemed appropriate including growing in a green house (glass house). As a consequence, the blooms in this section are not eligible for the Gold and Rose Ribbons. There are classes for 3, 6, and 12 cultivars in this section, and there is an award for the best bloom in this section. The flowers need not be grown by the hybridizer/exhibitor but can be grown by someone else to enter on behalf of the hybridizer/exhibitor.
The Goethe Link Award is for the best group of 3 different cultivars exhibited by the hybridizer. The winning group was exhibited by David Jackson. The flowers are:
