Further to my note about N. dubius/poeticus these are pictures of a pot of N. assoanus festooned with labels as described – it is a more photogenic pot that those of N. dubius.. for N. assoanus and N. dubius each flower has to be disected to gain access to the stigma – in the process much ‘selfing may occur though in this case the stigma was so far below both sets of anthers that i am hopeful that mayn of the crosses may have taken. Because of the high failure rate with miniature and species crosses I try to cross each flower with two distinctly different parents to double ths chances and so that I will be able to know the ‘Daddy’ if and when flowers appear.
