I took a lot of very mixed quality , late white perianth and pink toned doubles
to our late show ..Only a few went into the show classes , the rest were used
for displays , in the foyer , around the hall etc .
All these three have Eclat somewhere close in their breeding .
Colin Crotty suggested to me many years back that it was giving him red
pinks as strong as he was getting from Accent , but far better form .
Very useful advice indeed ..
These three were all 2009 selections I didn,t note the numbers .
Top flower was big , truest pink of the 3 , best layering , show potential .
Left was a clean , white , red-pink colour with yellow base tones ; rosette style .
Right flower was very bright red pink , probably brightest selected last season .
Was very open form , well shaped back .I had 3 flowers , all with pistils ,
pollinated two and brought one to show .Love the colour ..
No winners but attractive — work in progress ..
Cheers John .
