Dear Sandra, You spike my memory. A few years ago I visited that bird sanctuary. I enjoyed all the birds and especially the parrot kinds enjoying the variety of fruits supplied for their delectation – Alas, my interest got too close! No one had told me that the fruit is digested very quickly and that the residue is squirted, in volume, and at high pressure, from the rectal orifice. Just visualise the consequent spluttering, spitting and wiping and you may wonder why I still like birds!!! I swear that parrot had a spite against the Irish for beating Australia at rugby – or was it personal? Brian
