Here’s a (Pink Silk x Glenfarclas) seedling that opens 1W-O and matures with a perianth very nicely toned bronzy-buff with a white- and gold-ish halo; the trumpet lightens from orange to golden-orange (the tear is from wind damage, btw). Despite the flower not being 1W-O, I personally think it has potential… for something.
This flower I will continue to use reciprocally with John Reed’s toned 1O-O trumpets (‘Ivory Orange’, ‘Ivory Gold’, and ‘Carrot Juice’), and Brian Duncan’s gorgeous, aptly named ‘Bronzewing’. I put much faith in these crosses for yielding some beautiful, concolorous and possibly patterned-petaled trumpets of really nice form.
Okay, one more e-mail and then I’ll go quiet… I promise…
