Robert and Becky

There was an OOPs in the awards and Becky had to give up one of her awards the next day. I have heard of tongue in cheek remarks but this one was more like sign language from Becky:-))
(Of COURSE I am “inventing” a photo caption! I just LOVE looking behind the main characters in these photos to see the folks visiting with each other and how alert they all appear, considering many only cat nap a few hours during an entire convention!)
The flower arrangements on the tables were simply outstanding for every meal. Maybe someone can post some other photos and who all should get credit for providing the materials and the talent and hours of time to create these fine “Work of Art” for all of us to enjoy. This was the main focal point for the awards ceremony. Keith Kridler

  1. Hi Keith,
Thanks for the nice comments on the flower arrangements.  I was the one who did most of the work.  Helped by one lady who did the large one and assists from a couple more ladies from Jackson.
    I’m glad everyone enjoyed them.

  2. Ha!  Thanks for such a great photo, Keith (the second one).  Yes, I was given the Historic Medal by mistake (worn in the first photo) for my Historic Collection when it should have gone to Kirby Fong for Best Historic Bloom.  I was actually trying to show off the arrangement with cotton stalks, though, rather than the medal.  ;->  My sweet brother Mike and sister-in-law Debbie cut cotton stalks last fall in NW Mississippi and stored them for me.  They were brought back to TN and then to MS for the floral arrangers to use for the convention arrangements.  This large arrangement was outstanding and so were the smaller ones on all the tables.  I got one shot of one of the small ones that also included cotton bolls (attached).

It was a wonderful convention!  I still have to dig through photos to post some more and to send some to Loyce.  That, plus getting caught up at work and home, and daffodil blooms in full swing here!
