Silly advice

Hello Everyone,

Something that always annoys me are so called garden experts who give strange advice in their columns about daffodils.  But just to check it out here’s a question –

Have you ever been advised to use fly spray on your bulbs after lifting and in storage to kill APHIDS?  Personally I have never seen an aphid on stored bulbs but perhaps in warmer climates…

The same columnist also included a picture of a “new” miniature daffodil called Spring Sunshine.  This does not appear in Daffseek and looks more like a tazetta to me.  Anyone heard of it?

I feel better now ……..

Cheers,

Peter (enjoying wonderful sunshine at present)

  1. I remember the year Martha Stewart on her show had someone demonstrate how to braid daffodil foliage and make “people” from it; I for one was livid!!  So called experts for sure. Of course no one on the show responded when I tried to contact them.
