Drove down to Corvallis, Oregon to visit Walter Blom today. He is healing slower than he’d like but looked well and was in good spirits. We spent a truly delightful bit of time looking at his late flowers. I saw several outstanding Miniature selections including the 2W-W shown in the photo. I am guessing the flower is about 35mm in diameter. I love the scalloped corona. The flower certainly had a grace and elegance that made it quite distinct.
The second photo is of a superb, tiny, 6YYW-W that I believe has a diameter in the low to mid 30mm range. Simply exquisite!
Photo 3 is one of Walter’s Erythronium hybrids. The range of his hybrid Erythronium is so remarkable and he has managed to produce a few “color breaks” for the genus. What a splendid afternoon!!! I did have to profusely apologize for leaving drool marks on so many flowers…

And now I’ve had to remove those marks from my computer screen! Lovely things you posted. Phyllis Hess.
