Growing Daffodils, Show Results

Snow.

Hi  Daffnetters ,
Last  for  the  evening ..
Heavy  snow  over  most  of  N Z today  —  also  for  next  few  predicted ..
In  over  30  years  of  daff  growing  for  market  and  show , I,ve never  had  my  beds
under  snow  before ..
I  was happily  picking  market  flowers  as  it  got  colder  and  colder,  mid  afternoon ..
Soon  quit  when  the  snow  came  about  3 – 30  pm  ,  down  off  the  ranges .
No  snow  at  my  home  block ,  a  lot  closer  to  the  coast ,  snow  at  Otaki  Railway ,
a  mile  further  inland ..
Wilf  Hall ,  also  up  under  the  ranges ,  had  a  similar  heavy  fall .
 
I,m  sure  the  daffs  are  tough  —  not  so  sure  about  the  aging  growers .

    So sorry the snow is interfering with the daffodils spring glory and bringing such a chill,
