re teaser ‘Flight Path’

Brian and all,

I cannot understand how you managed to get such a
reasonable bloom of ‘Flight Path’ when we only sent it to you on the 16th May
this year (3-1/2 months ago).  My own stock of this
cultivar has just started to open today.

We have only just released ‘Flight Path’ this year
as we needed enough stock to get 18 blooms for a First Class Certificate from
the National Daffodil Society of New Zealand. This was awarded in
2010 at the North Island Show in Palmerston North.

When the cultivar first flowered Kevin Kerr
suggested the name we have given it. As a number of you know,
Kevin’s health is not good, but he is enjoying his daffodils now that they are
starting to flower. He is looking forward to the local Brightwater
Show in little over a weeks time.

‘Flight Path’ was also sent to some growers in
America this year and we do hope it grows well for them. I still
have one or two bulbs of ‘Flight Path’ hanging in the shed in a netlon bag that
were not planted (waiting to be incinerated) these still have good green
shoots but the bulbs are starting to get a bit soft after being out of the
ground for nine months.

Cheers,

John and Marie
