Please be advised that due to one mistake after another, I have learned that
DHL Global Mail has just now processed your Journals, and they are about to
be in the mail to you. You have my profuse apologies and rest assured I
have been working on this since 5 OCT, when they were notified to pick up
the international bound Journals from the printer, and I sent the database
info for the individual Journals to be prepped. DHL Global is promising a
credit for their total breakdown of service from beginning to end. I have
begun exploring other international publication delivery options as a result
of this fiasco. Initially, DHL Global Mail performed brilliantly for us,
and their price has always been reasonable. I will keep our international
members informed if I decide to make a change in our vendor to prepare and
deliver our Journals. At this point, I am most displeased with DHL Global.
I think you could say they have my undivided attention, and most folks would
tell that is not a comfortable place to be. ADS members in the US did not
receive their Journals until recently either. My personal copy arrived on
14 OCT. Mary Lou Gripshover in OH, reported her copy did not arrive until
20 OCT. So it seems like the USPS must have taken an extended holiday with
DHL Global. And our next issue. DEC, is always the critical one for
damaged copies, missing copies, etc. The intense and crushing holiday mail
stream is most unkind to publications. So international ADS members, please
let me know when your SEP Journal finally makes it way to you, and let me
know if the condition of the publication is satisfactory.
