  1. ‘Tanzey Girl’ is such an extraordinary grower and performer here in the
    north. It generally (for me) produces elongated, smallish bulbs, which
    fool the eye for what they eventually produce the following spring. The
    plant’s vigor and size, rapidity of increase, and abundance of thick,
    leathery, sun resistant flowers make it one of my best in my field. And
    for those of you who observe and admire a daffodil’s foliage—an
    important aspect in the garden, I feel—it too is superior. Erect,
    stiff, and quite deep bluish-green, and in good proportion to stem
    height.

    What a perfect contender it should be for better jonquil, split-corona,
    and double breeding… Crossed x ‘Conestoga’ and applied to a number of
    Ron Scamp’s well-formed, stiff-stemmed splits, the future may well be
    quite impressive!
