Miniature Div. 7 x Div. 5

This is V04 -60-15 a cross of: N. jonq. henriquesii x N. triandrus var. triandrus. Similar in style to Rod Barwick’s lovely ‘Angel’s Breath’, ‘Angel’s Whisper’, etc. It is very much earlier than the “Angel’s” series but not quite as well formed. It surely has true hybrid vigor. A fragrant early bit of bright color.

  1. Hi Steve and all

Really very nice. Try crossing N. lusitancus and N. fernandesii you
should get N. triandrus subsp. triandrus var. concolor Haworth or
‘Ganymedes concolor of Haworth’. They are very hardy and give lots of
    really nice flowers.

  2. Hi Marilynn,

Thanks so much for the great suggestion! I will indeed make this cross.

Don’t have N. fernandesii in flower inside yet but buds are up in some pots. Just tips showing outside. Only have N. lusitanicus outside so I’m a bit of time away from being able to make that suggested cross specifically. I do have some seedlings from V03-20 grex = N. tri. pulchellus x N. tri. aurantiacas (or whatever they may be called now) that are unexplainably early and coming into flower now. Will give one or two of these seedlings a try as pollen parents when N. fernandesii flowers and see what happens. A photo of the earliest of these is below.

    Many, many thanks,

    Steve
