‘Junne Johnsrud’

Here’s a photo of a nice patch of flowers in bloom here in middle Tennessee, Bill Pannill’s ‘Junne Johnsrud’. I purchased one bulb in 2003 from Oregon Trail Daffodils because of Bill’s story about how he agreed to name
if after a lady before he knew the lady’s name. Once he heard her name, he said he’d probably never sell many of
that one. It’s a pretty flower!

  1. Junne Johnsrud was a National Garden Club President in the early 80s. She was from Montana and owned a saloon. She wore these tiara like things on top of her head and topped that off with a Spanish mantilla (sp?), sort of like a lace shawl kind of thing. She used false eyelashes and would sometimes lose one. She was a no nonsense, tell it like it was woman. She didn’t fit the mold of most NGC Presidents. I really liked her.

  2. Sounds like Bill! LOL
