Miniature 6Y-Y

This is V04-7-15 = Mitzy x N. cyclamineus which is a backcross. ‘Mitzy’ is ‘Rockery White’ x N. cyclamineus. The N. cyclamineus used is now a clonal form I refer to as “Tube 2” raised from 1987 seed from the RHS Seed Exchange. Well formed, having a straight sided trumpet, ending with a finely serrated mouth. The clone has been an average increaser but a notably fine seed and pollen parent transmitting its classical form.

The flower below is 53 mm (a little over 2″‘) from the tips of the petals to the trumpet mouth. Flower is 6 1/2 inches tall. This is the fourth season it has flowered and has seven flowers. Marked for lining out this summer to see how it will do in field rows.
