2012 C. D. G . Late Doubles .

Quite a few good doubles at the late show .

Crowndale is always impressive , — probably about 4 vases of
threes that standout , also a handful of singles. Reliable and
used by a lot of exhibitors .
Interestingly , from the big Crowndale , I had a first flower
4 Y – O seedling that won its class and easily measured intermediate .
The cross was , Crowndale — x — Small , 2 O – O , Firemist seedling .
The sdlg had good orange flush ,was only about 90mm ; hoped that the
Crowndale size would dominate but it went the other way .Marked 4 from
the cross to try again .

Lucky Dice , 4 Y – Y , big , very round ,reasonable form,very late .
I registered it last year ; not a quick multiplyer but is a strong
growing , useful late show collection flower .

Double Degree , 4 Y – P , — a nice registration from Michael Brown .
Very pleasing colours , good form and size. Strong plant , thanks Michael .

Montage ,– 4 W – WP , from Colin Crotty and Pleasant Valley Daffodils .
I have a lot of this ; it is a very strong growing late flower , — a
very good picker- cutflower a

nd gives a percentage of very showable doubles .
Tall, big and good substance , also fertile both ways .

Camellia , — 4 Y – Y , pre 1930 . Shown by Reg Cull from his excellent
historics collection .Very acceptable form for this era , very full ,
well layered bloom shown in excellent condition , obviously a late flower .
Always interesting to compare the different generations of flowers .
