GCV Daffodil 2013

On March 27th and 28th the Garden Club of Virginia 79th Annual Daffodil show was hosted by my club, the Garden Club of Gloucester.  The ADS Gold Ribbon for  Best Daffodil in Show was the same cultivar, Queen’s Guard 1W-Y,  that won BEST in the early show in England on March 26th.  A complete listing of all the winners can be found on our club’s show blog www.gloucesterdaffodils.blogspot.com and photos of the show can be found at the GCV website www.gcvirginia.org go to flowershows, then daffodil. The show was much smaller than last year because we had SNOW last weekend and has been very cold here.  You can see photos of us exhibiting in the tent.  If we look cold, we were!

  1. Cecil, thanks so much for sharing your show pics. It does appear to have been chillier than last year; but the smiles and fellowship certainly warmed up the place!

  2. Yes, Darrin, it was very, very cold….   I am glad you could see how cold we were in that tent.  It was a far contrast from last year’s show that had so many late blooming daffodils.  So many people still have so few flowers in bloom!
