Flowering in Canberra now – Part 7

Hi

A few more photos. It  has been Canberra’s hottest winter on record and we have just had 25 degrees Celsius. Things have moved quickly and this means less substance and more flaws with flowers. The initial spurt of miniatures is coming to an end and mid-season to late season flowers are now flowering. As we grow a lot of miniatures there is still quite a few to flower and I still expect to be flowering miniatures by the end of September but maybe not as much into October as is usual for us.

John, there are some very good cyclamineus hybrids that look just like N. cyclamineus but because they are hybrids they are hardier and multiply better than the species. We probably have a few hundred such flowers. How many would survive in your conditions is another question altogether.
