Now that the days are getting longer some seedlings are flowering in the cold greenhouse. First is a bulbocodium raised from alpine society seed. Unfortunately the top part of the label faded and I was just left with the part word “bulbo”. This year it has produced an 8 petalled flower. It seems to produce buds in sequence i.e. as the first flower is blooming another bud appears at the base of the plant and possibly another when the second bud is in flower.

Seedling from n. cyclamineus x n cordubensis are also in flower. These seem to have a long flowering period. The first stems this year only carry 1 flower but later buds can have 2 to 3 flowers.
Finally some seedlings from a 1W-W seedling (Small Talk OP x Elka) x n. cyclamineus are showing their first flowers after 4 years.
Finally just as I thought the weather was improving we had a snowfall yesterday afternoon.
Very nice to see Derrick! Thanks so much for both the photos and Post!
Way to go Derrick. It is encouraging to see other peoples efforts. Nice flowers. We should encourage everyone to breed daffs.
