A big and very well deserved congratulations to Denise and Neil McQuarrie on their awarding of the David Bell Gold Medal .They are a formidable team and have given us so many nice flowers .This Daffnet message came through just as I had been cleaning up the last few flower photos for Daffnet and Daffseek .
We had shown at our Otaki Show a recent McQuarrie yellow trumpet that I had not seen before .Two different blooms of LOYAL OSCAR , one from Wayne H , not sure who showed the other , but both were impressive flowers ; we will see more Oscars for Loyal Oscar , a very good trumpet .

I can only agree with John’s comments, this was an award that was richly deserved.
The best of Denise’s flowers are yet to come, wait until Lake Ida and Joe Bell are more widely grown.
