In 2013 (I was just getting started in hybridizing) I was crossing things that I had. I was not following the “rule of thumb” of crossing similar colored flowers. I now generally cross yellow with yellow and white with white but sometimes you just try something new. What do the (my) kids look like ? I’ve got 4 blooms starting after 8 years. 3 today. 1 in a few days. All very early for me. All 3 blooms so far I like. One nice 1Y-Y garden quality. 100 mm size. The other two a 2Y-Y and a 2Y-O both potential show quality. Photos attached.
Thanks Bill for posting the results of that interesting cross. I would have though maybe some 2y-p seedlings may show up. Seems like the strong red to pink corona of Magician did not come through in this first generation cross. Looks like the yellow gene in the Pacific Rim petals was dominate over the white in Magician also.
