2022 ADS Gold Medal
Joe Hamm of Washington, PA, was awarded the 2022 American Daffodil Society Gold Medal. The Gold Medal of the American Daffodil Society is awarded to an individual deemed by the Honors Committee as being worthy of “recognition of creative work of a pre-eminent nature in the understanding and advancement of daffodils”.

2022 ADS Silver Medal
Janet Hickman of Lynchburg, VA, was awarded the 2022 American Daffodil Society Silver Medal. The Silver Medal of the American Daffodil Society is awarded to an individual deemed by the Honors Committee as being worthy of “recognition of outstanding service to the American Daffodil Society.”

Congrats to each of you, both well-deserved honors! For those of you who were not in attendance, Janet was awarded her Silver Medal in person at the Gettysburg Convention. Fred (Fredrica Lawlor), the outgoing Pres. of ADS, awarded Joe’s Gold Medal to him via a Zoom call and in an interesting way! Earlier this spring while at Joe’s house she had hidden his Gold Medal in a drawer, so during the call, Joe was told where he could find his medal. Ingenious! And it was so much fun for those of us at the meeting to be a part of it!
So thanks to Joe for all his support of ADS with his daffodil display garden, show, Historics work and more and to Janet, who is our new ADS President! And a huge applause to Fred for all the work she’s done to keep ADS going and strong during such trying times!
