Resolved: To change the By-Laws to formally include the Immediate Past President as a member of the Executive Committee.
Article V, Committees, Section 1, first sentence shall read as follows with the text change underlined.
ARTICLE V
Committees
Section I. The Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, the First Vice President, the Second Vice President, the Immediate Past President, The Secretary, the Treasurer, the Chair of the Membership Committee, and two (2) other members of the Society who shall be nominated by the President and approved by the Board of the Society.
Rationale:
The Executive Committee shall be composed of those knowledgeable about the workings of the Society. The Immediate Past President has institutional knowledge and experience with recent actions of the Society. This motion is intended to formally invite the Immediate Past President to continue service as a member of the Executive Committee.
