The Central Daffodil Group held our 2023 Late Show on Saturday 30 September in the Lutheran Church Hall , Palmerston North . A cooler , windy few days before the show hindered our hopes on the lates openning on time , but I suspect that a lot of the blooms came from fridges or chillers .About 300 blooms across all grades and the standard was very good , – many big smooth blooms kept the judges thinking .As expected , a shortage of yellow backs , particularly trumpets but a very good number of poets – just love those bright eyes .As most of the top blooms were from our usual top exhibitors John Hollever and Wayne Hughes , the dutys were spread with David Luty and John McLennan selecting most of the Prems .
The CHAMPION BLOOM was a unanimous descision , the Reserve from a superb vase three poets gave the vase 3 to a tall vase of Chrystal Gem .
