2024 MTDS (Nashville) Show Winners

The Nashville show was held in the usual venue of the Cheekwood Botanical Garden on March 23rd and 24th. It can be a normal show with very happy reunions among those we haven’t been with for a year or more, or it can be an extremely exciting time with unforeseen results that generate great excitement. This show was one of those unforeseen times as Dwight & Colette Curtis exhibited the Gold Ribbon winner which was a shockingly high quality specimen of Magic Lantern. This is their 1st Gold Ribbon winner! Congratulations to them both! Very exciting. When the exhibitor is revealed, everyone gathers around to congratulate them, but this was a special event since it’s their 1st. These are the best of times in Daffodil shows!

the Gold Ribbon for Best in Show, a magnificent specimen of Magic Lantern going to the 1st time winners of Dwight and Colette Curtis!! congrats you guys! this flower stands out among all the others.

The White Ribbon winner was Trena, exhibited by Susan Basham.

The Rose Ribbon for the best seedling was JS_67_87_4 “Easter Moon X Eileen Squires” 2W-YYO.

The mini Gold Ribbon for the best miniature single stem in show was N. Willkomii exhibited by Bonnie Campbell.

The lavender ribbon is awarded to the best entry of 5 different miniature daffodils. exhibited by Helen Humber with flowers of Englander, Golden Symphony, Snipe, China Gold, white Petticoat.

The Bankhead award, exhibited by Mike and Lisa Kuduk.

The intermediate single stem ribbon was awarded to Mighty Mite, exhibited by Ann Cain.

The 3 stem intermediate Ribbon award was won by Clavichord, exhibited by Bonnie Campbell.

The Classic 3 stem award winner of Cassata, by Molly Adams.

The small grower ribbon was Pipit, exhibited by Mrs Jen Zimmerer.

Youth Single Stem winner, Fragrant Rose exhibited by Molly Warner.

The 5 stem youth ribbon was awarded to the collection with Fragrant Rose, Calexico, Sweet Smiles, Belcanto & Altun Ha. The exhibitor was Molly Warner.

The Red White and Blue Ribbon was exhibited by Mike and Lisa Kuduk with flowers of Louise Randall, Pacific Rim, Mary Rutledge, Geometrics, and Cleric.

The Maroon Ribbon for the best 5 stem entry of different reverse bicolors was awarded to this collection by Mike and Lisa Kuduk, Most flower names in the pic except for Pipit.

The Historic 5 stem award ribbon was exhibited by Mike and Lisa Kuduk with the flowers showing in the photo except for Beryl and ace of diamon

The Havens ribbon award was exhibited by Mike and Lisa Kuduk. Most flower names in the photo cept for lower left Vineland.

The Bozievich award winner for 12 stems of standard daffodils from at least 4 divisions.
